Nick played all his junior & senior cricket with United CC in the mid 1980's before pursuing a journalism career with the Wangaratta Chronicle, then Prime TV in Albury, before becoming a regular news reporter with the Nine News network across Australia. Nick was a very promising cricketer in his youth & would of been a long term A grade cricketer in WDCA ranks. Nick Coe - National Nine News senior reporter, Melbourne
Nick Coe joined National Nine News in Melbourne in 1996 as a reporter. Born in Wangaratta in Victoria, Coe, 35, knew at a young age he wanted a career in journalism. At 16 he began a cadetship with the Wangaratta Chronicle. In 1988 he was recruited by the Sunday Observer as a general news reporter. Coe's move from print to television news came in 1990 when he joined Prime Television in Albury. In 1993 he left Prime to travel overseas for two years. Upon returning he worked in public relations briefly before taking up a position in 1996 with WIN TV in Ballarat as a sports presenter. In the same year he joined National Nine News. Among the hundreds of stories Coe has covered during his 19-year career, he counts the disappearance of Moe toddler Jaidyn Leskie, the Sydney to Hobart disaster and the 2003 anniversary of the Bali bombing as the most memorable.
